Do we need to meet before booking?

I am happy to arrange a meeting but is not an essential requirement as i usually meet just over half of my wedding clients before the wedding day. Some people live more than a hours drive away and book after seeing my work online or through the recomendations of friends and family. Usually a telephone chat before your wedding is enough to talk through the practical details of the day, although if you live close doing this over a coffee is a great way for us to get to know each other while we go over it all.

What is my shooting style?

I have a natural shooting style that dos’nt leave anything out. I watch the story of your day unfold and working quickly and quietly often unoticed i capture it all in its many forms. Quiet times, reflective times, nervous moments, joyous times and many more of those special moments that make up each day. I capture rather than dictating if you want a loud bossy photographer i may not be the right one for you!

Even your group shots are shot in a free flowing natural style.I create a relaxed atmosphere and work quickly with minimal fuss to capture natural fun and expressions without a forced smile or stiff neck in sight. They are often shot within a 10-20 minute period which frees you and your guests up to get on with having fun and enjoying your day!

Im also able to switch to a more traditional style when the need calls to capture any couple or guest portraits you want capturing on your big day.

Do you use a second photographer?

For weddings with 125 guests or more a second photographer can be beneficial in helping to catch those spontatneous memorable moments that happen all around often simultaneously. However as each wedding venue and its requirements are different its an option we can discuss when going over the details of your day.All second photographers used are hand picked by myself and wedding photographers in their own right or published photo journalists with the highest standard of work.

Do you take any formal pictures/group shots?

Although most of my work is photojournalistic and natural in style I appreciate some people want a few more traditional set up shots for family and friends.

Should you require these I advise a maximum of 6 group shot set ups which ensures these are covered quickly and keeps the interruption of flow of your day to a minimum. Leaving you to get on and enjoy the day.

Im also able to switch to a more traditional style when the need calls to capture any couple or guest portraits you want capturing on your big day.

What do you do about eating on the day?

My day is long and I need complete concentration and physical stamina to get the best possible images for you throughout the wedding. I ask for a balanced warm meal be provided on the day similar to that provided to your guests.

Do we choose which images go in our album?

Editing images for the album is a key part of the creative process. As well as editing out people blinking, duplicates etc I edit a selection of shots which will come together as a series to tell a complete storey of your day.

You can view the images I recommend to put in your album and most clients are happy to let me move on with getting the book designed printed and assembled for them to enjoy.

Do you visit the venue before the wedding?

In most cases I don’t as this can lead to building up a series of pre conceived ideas of what images I will capture and how on the day. The very nature of my style is that I capture events as they happen in the moment and too much preparation and planning can detract from my natural free flowing approach. This is turn could be reflected in the final images.

Also my shooting style and level of experience means I am confident enough to adapt to each venue and situation on the day.
